What is the BAWC?
The Bertha Area Wellness Center is a Maslowski Health and Research Facility located adjacent to the current Tri-County Health Care – Bertha Clinic. The BAWC is open 24 hours per day, seven days a week and is a convenient fitness option for individuals age 12 and older, and of every fitness level.
We are all at a different place on our wellness journey. Whether your goal is running a 5K, losing a few extra pounds or simply staying active, we have the support and resources to get you there.
You don't have to be "well" to practice wellness. Anyone can do it, at any stage of life. Every time you make even a small choice that helps you move toward better health – you are practicing wellness.
And the benefits are many:
- Increased mental focus
- Increased energy
- Lowered stress levels
- Better self-esteem
- Lowered risk of heart disease
- Lowered risk of osteoporosis
- Reduced depression
- Reduced risk of cancer
Wellness is not a destination. Wellness is a practice. It's not something you are, it's something you do.
