Tri-County Health Care.

Adult Survivors of Suicide Loss Support Group

Each year more than 36,000 in the United States die by suicide, leaving behind devastated family and friends. Many survivors find it comforting to talk with others who have also suffered a suicide loss.

The purpose of this group is to provide a confidential support group for those who have experienced this type of loss to find support, share their story and learn ways to cope. It is open to all adult family members and friends of a loved one who has completed suicide.

The groups meets the third Tuesday of the month from 6:30 – 8 p.m. in the Wesley Conference Room in the lower level of Tri-County Health Care.

Diabetes Support Group

Tri-County Health Care hosts a monthly diabetes support group from September-May. The group is held the second Monday of each month from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. in the Wesley Conference Room, located in the lower level of Tri-County Health Care in Wadena.

Anyone suffering from Type 1, Type 2 or gestational diabetes is invited to the support group. The group's purpose is to provide ongoing support and offer education by registered dietitians and guest speakers on such topics as nutrition, insulin pumps and exercise.

Grief Support Group

Tri-County Health Care will host its monthly grief support group on the first Tuesday of each month from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. in the Wesley Conference Room, located in the lower level of Tri-County Health Care in Wadena.

Anyone who has experienced a loss is invited to the support group. The group's purpose is to offer understanding, suggestions for coping, support, friendship and, most of all, hope to bereaved adults. The group meets the first Tuesday of each month.

Memory Loss Support and Education Group for Caregivers

Tri-County Health Care will host its monthly Memory Loss support Group for Caregivers on the second Thursday of each month at 2:30 p.m. in the Wesley Conference Room, located in the lower level of Tri-County Health Care in Wadena.

If you are having difficulty talking to family or friends about your feelings, you may find that it is easier to express yourself in a support group, where you can be honest with others facing similar problems. Through participation in a support group, you will be better prepared and perhaps feel less devastated as your loved one’s condition becomes worse. You also may be able to find some hope from seeing that others who have been caring longer have survived the caregiving experience.

Parents Who Have Lost a Child Support Group

Tri-County Health Care has started a "Parents Who Have Lost a Child" support group to help those in the area affected by the loss of a child. The "Parents Who Have Lost a Child" support group meets the second Monday of the month from 5:30 – 7 p.m. in the Wesley Conference Room at Tri-County Health Care.

Our area has had a disturbing number of children lost to miscarriage, stillbirth, illness, cancer, suicide and accidents. These parents need long-term support and many find it comforting to talk with others who have also suffered a similar loss. The purpose of this group is to provide a confidential setting for those who have experienced this type of loss to find support, share their story and learn ways to cope.
