Background:
Born and raised in North Dakota, Alyssa’s marriage to her husband, Jon Fabre, brought her to the lakes area. Alyssa has nine years of experience as a nurse practitioner in cardiology, diabetic management and interventional radiology. She also has six years of nursing experience in cardiac and medical ICU and the ER.

What inspired you to get into medicine?
I grew up in a rural area. When we went to the clinic, we were seen by nurse practitioners. I knew from a very young age that that was what I wanted to do. I have always been drawn to a profession that allowed me to care for others, especially in a time of great need.

What do you like to do in your downtime?
I enjoy outdoor activities such as walking my dogs, jogging and downhill and cross-country skiing. I also enjoy reading and spending time with family and friends, especially at the lake. I read to relax in the evenings.

What is one interesting, unique or fun thing that most people may not know about you?
I grew up on a farm in rural North Dakota. Our family showed cattle across the Midwest and in Canada. We also showed horses locally.
