I began my health care career more than 17 years ago primarily working as an emergency room staff RN for Henry Ford Hospital. Working in Detroit at Henry Ford’s Level I Trauma Center that sees over 100,000 patients per year enabled me to see many different patient pathologies and disease states and gain much needed experience in working with a culturally diverse staff and patient population in an under served area. As a nurse practitioner, I worked at an outpatient internal medicine clinic and performed in-home health risk assessments for a company called Complex Care Solutions. I have a beautiful wife named Cassie, a lovely daughter named Sophia, and a Doberman named Isaac.
What inspired you to get into medicine?
I chose health care as a career path because it allows me an opportunity to help people when in need. For me, there is no greater joy than the one you feel when you manage to help a very sick patient return to their optimal state of health.
Why choose Tri-County Health Care?
I chose to work for Tri-County Health Care because it is a not-for-profit health care system that has a 90-year history of providing quality comprehensive personalized health care services to the citizens of Wadena and surrounding communities. In addition to wanting to work for a health system with a proven track record, I chose TCHC because I will have the privilege to work with and be mentored by a group of highly skilled health care professionals that value teamwork and who are truly committed to transforming lives through health and wellness in the communities they serve.
What do you like to do in your downtime?
I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling. One of my favorite pastime activities is going to different restaurants and trying different types of cuisine.
What is one interesting, unique or fun thing that most people may not know about you?
Coincidentally, my dog, Isaac, was born on the same day my wife and I got married.
