Astera offers midwifery services to help ensure a healthy pregnancy for each of our patients as well as a full range of primary health care for women from adolescence to beyond menopause. Certified nurse midwives (CNM) provide pregnant women with personal care from prenatal through postpartum. A midwife takes a more holistic approach to health care than an obstetrician, with added focus on mental health, socioeconomic status, and an expecting mother’s general mood, among other factors. Midwife services may also include support during delivery, aromatherapy, and water birth expertise. Our CNMs, Dawn Dahlgren-Roemmich and Allison Freese-Johnson, will provide education and care to help improve the health of you, your baby, and your entire family.

We provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological services at our women’s health clinic in Wadena.
